Hey fellow explorers,
If you’ve been following my journey at LekkerSpots, you know I’m a big fan of escaping the city. Usually, I’m heading to a farm to get away from the supercars and the construction noise to clear my head.
But sometimes, you can't drive 3 hours away. Sometimes, life hits you hard right where you live.
A few years ago, I had to shut down a startup. It wasn’t just a business failure; it was a massive financial and emotional burn. I was stuck in my head, overthinking every mistake. That’s when I started my "sessions" with Dr. Promenade.
The 12km Therapy Session
Living in Mouille Point, the Promenade became my sanctuary. I realised that movement is the best way to process complex emotions and make rational decisions. While most people see the Prom as a place for a casual stroll, for me, it’s a 12km ritual that got me "back on the horse."
I’ve put together a visual guide of my specific route on Instagram—you can save it for your next "therapy session" here:
The Essential Pit Stops
A good therapy session needs the right fuel. Here is my exact route and the spots that make it special:
The Starting Line: I usually grab a flat white at Seattle Coffee Co. in Mouille Point. If I’m feeling hungrier, I’ll hit New Port Deli for a proper breakfast near the lighthouse.
The Halfway Mark: I walk all the way to Clifton. The goal is The Eatery Clifton. If it’s late afternoon, their sunset views with a cold beer are unbeatable. It’s the perfect place to sit and realise that the world is much bigger than your current problems.
The Reward: On the walk back, I end at Step Brothers next to Green Point Park. Their wood-fired pizza and a beer are the ultimate "I survived the day" prizes.

Dr. Promenade: The 12km Clarity Walk
Why this matters
Whether it’s a quiet weekend at Maskam or a 12km power walk along the Atlantic Seaboard, LekkerSpots is about finding these "recharge" moments. I’ve added all these pins to the site so you don’t have to hunt for them in your notes like I used to.
If you’re going through a tough time or just need to clear the mental fog, go see the Doctor.
What’s your "Dr. Promenade"?
I’ve shared my therapeutic ritual, but now I want to hear about yours?
Whether it's a secret dirt road you always explore or a local coffee shop that serves as your sanctuary, I want to feature your stories. I’m looking for fellow curious minds to share their unfiltered stories on the places they love.
Stay curious,
Adrian
